Tourist visas are issued to individuals who would like to sojourn in Mozambique on holiday for a period not exceeding 30 days through a single or multiple entry.

Business Visa
May be granted for 30 days to 6 months

South African nationals may obtain this upon arrival
A Business visa allows the holder thereof to enter Mozambique for professional activities such as meetings, research, conferences or visiting a subsidiary branch of the parent company.
The 30 days business visa will allow the traveller to stay in Mozambique for a continuous 30 days. The traveller would then need to depart after the 30 days.
The 6 months multiple business visa is issued to travellers for 6 months however it will only allow the traveller to stay in Mozambique for up to10 days per visit.

Transit Visa
Issued for up to 7 days
South African nationals may obtain this upon arrival
Valid for a single entry
Allows you to transit through Mozambique
Transit visas are short-term travel visas that are granted for up to 7 days by the concerned Mozambique consular authorities. This visa allows you to transit through Mozambique and issued on a single entry.

- Two recent passport sized colour photographs
- Copy of itinerary
- Motivational letter of support for application

Residence Permit
Allows you to conduct work
May be extended up to 60 days
Only issued on a single entry
Takes anything from 7 – 90 days to process
The Residence Visas are granted for a single entry only; applicants must remain in the country for thirty (30) days, this may be extended for up to sixty (60) days. Within this period, holders of this type of visa must apply for a longer-term Residence Permit in country at the Immigration Services in Mozambique.

- Two recent passport sized colour photographs
- Copy of itinerary
- Motivational letter of support for application
- Certificate of discharge issued by the Ministry of Finance (Tax Department)

Work Visa
Allows you to lawfully work
Valid for up to 6 months
Applications must be made prior to entering Mozambique
Takes anything from 7 – 90 days to process
A Work visa is designed for foreign workers to take up employment in Mozambique. The visa is issued for a single entry and includes residency for thirty (30) days. This may be extended for up to sixty (60) days in country. However, if the employment contract is valid for more than 60 days, the applicant must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit at the Immigration Services office in Mozambique.

Study Permit
Allows you to study in Mozambique
Required prior to entering the country
These visas are only issued to student registered with tertiary institutions
Work is prohibited
A study visa allows the holder to reside in Mozambique whilst taking up studies with an officially recognized educational institution.
This visa is valid for twelve (12) months and may be extended for a further period of 12 months.
